Really feels like the holiday is coming to an end 🙁
Another day, another pandesal.
We left the house at around 8:30am for what we thought was going to be a decent journey. Turns out we were just going a few hundred metres down the road to the local primary school, San Cristobal.
We were providing donations to the kindergarten students.
After spending around half an hour playing and feeding them, we had to go.
Next we went to a volunteer centre that cares for the abandoned elderly. Without this centre, these people would be on the streets as they have no family left in this world.
We then visited the first church and entered through the Jubilee door. This door is only opened once every 50 years so we were very fortunate. I don’t see myself walking through it again 50 years in the future, if I’m still around. This church was quite sentimental.
The story goes when the Japanese invaded, they had all the men of San Pablo gathered in the church. They separated those who looked Chinese and those who did not. My grandfather was one of those selected who did not. The remainder(Chinese looking) were marched to the fields and executed.

It was nearing midday so we drove to Liliw where we stopped at Arabela for lunch.
With me not even at full height, I was hitting my head on the ceiling. Discriminatory for the tall.

They specialise in Italian food, which would actually impress quite a few Italians. I got the Chicken Parma.
After lunch we had about an hour to roam around this famous little town of Liliw. Well known for its slippers.
The iconic Jeepney of the Philippines.
Inside was this cute little guy. A mere 2 months old.
Starting at the local church, these candles are symbolic for certain things in life. Eg. Red represents Strength.
Giant shoes and slippers everywhere.

More basketball. Good to see the sport is still strong in the country.

I had their local drink Gulaman. Very refreshing on a very hot day.
Kids learning to gamble early.
