Philippines – Day 10

Took the dog, Renwa, for a walk. He loved it! All the other dogs around the street were so jealous. Unfortunately almost all of these dogs sit in a cage or tied up for their entire life.

Down the street was a Merc. How random.

Our famous Marasigan St

After the walk we were picked up by the van to do a tour of Sampalok lake. We then proceeded to Mt Carmel church where we were blessed by some nuns, one who was 90+ years old.

Back in town and I walked past my Lola’s house. No one lives in it anymore but it is the most central property in the whole city. Surrounding it for several hundred metres is purely commercial business. A gold mine in the middle of the city.

After lunch at Chow King, I was in search of a haircut.

Found a place and got my 2nd haircut within a week. This time it cost me 80 pesos($2).

I bought a hand dryer for $150!

I got a burger. Chips were real good, bread was very filo, but overall ok. I’ve had a lot worse for $6.50

The live band were on so we took over as they went on their break.

Over the past few days we were all getting sick from the constant change in temperatures. This ranged from colds, coughs and fevers. Tonight was especially evident. Good thing we have an Aunty and Uncle who are doctors, who carry their prescription pads!

After dinner we went to the pharmacy and stocked up on drugs thanks to the fresh prescriptions. I took a tablet and immediately felt better. My cough was almost gone within an hour!

Got back, unloaded my things and started the pack from scratch. How will I do it?

With plenty of practice I made it work with a bit of room spare!
